Knowledge Base
Plain definitions of the terms that turn up on quotations, bookings and airport paperwork.
Quoted individually. Give us the outline and a written price comes back to you: no rate card, no obligation whatsoever.
Glossary
Ground transport has accumulated a vocabulary that nobody explains to the person paying for it. As-directed, deadhead, standby, wait and return, FBO - all of it means something specific, and none of it is obvious from the words themselves.
Each entry defines the term in the first two sentences, then explains where it comes from, how it appears on a booking, and what it is commonly confused with.
If a word on your quotation is not here, ask us. Nothing on a booking should be a term you had to look up alone.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs
01
Your name sits against that vehicle for the whole engagement. No pool to dip into, no quiet swap halfway, and no dispatch system choosing who turns up at your door.
02
We work out mileage, hours committed, vehicle class and your departure hour before you commit, then put it in writing. What you agree to is what the journey costs.
03
A hop across Mayfair and a long, unhurried run to the Highlands come off the same desk. Equal care, the same people, and it all sits under one booking.
04
No liveries on the doors. Chauffeurs who wait to be spoken to first. In the back, you can hold a confidential call without once dropping your voice.
Choosing Well
Nobody meters this end of the market. A quotation gets built instead: the distance covered, the number of hours the car is committed for, which vehicle the day calls for, and the hour you happen to be travelling. One written figure comes back to you. Where the job is a single movement between two points, it is priced that way; where the diary holds several stops, hourly work usually serves better, since the car simply waits between appointments rather than being rebooked. Congestion Charge, ULEZ and tolls all sit inside that guide figure. Waiting time is agreed up front, never totted up against you afterwards.
Eighteen service types is a lot to read through, though the choice narrows quickly once you ask what shape the day takes. One arrival, or one departure: that is a transfer. A morning of meetings is hourly work. A wedding is choreography. Vehicles sort themselves out along the same lines. One or two people travelling light are comfortable in a saloon. Bring luggage, or bring a group, and the people carrier earns its place the moment it appears. The more ceremonial marques get chosen for how they photograph as much as for how they ride.
Preparation is the line between this and a private hire booking. A chauffeur is named to your job in advance, briefed on the route, told which entrance you will use and where the car may legally wait, then kept with you for the whole engagement. Pricing it accurately means we need the date, the timings, both addresses, the number travelling, an honest count of the luggage that is genuinely coming, and any flight number, since that lets us plan around the published schedule. WhatsApp or email, either is fine. A considered proposal comes back.

Four Steps
Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.
01
Message us on WhatsApp with your date, the addresses and roughly how the day looks, or fill in the journey planner instead. Nothing is owed either way, and getting a price asks for no card details at all.
02
Back comes a written quotation setting out the vehicle, the timings and everything included. No estimate that shifts afterwards, and no surge pricing.
03
Once you confirm, your date has a vehicle against it and a named professional chauffeur, with the terms set down in writing.
04
Your chauffeur is briefed beforehand on the route, the access and where the waiting happens, so nothing gets decided at the kerb.
Airports
Met in arrivals with a name board, luggage carried, and departures planned around your check-in.
Popular Journeys
Quoted door to door as a single movement, including the return leg and any waiting in between.
Experiences
Weddings, the racing season, the tennis, the theatre and a table somewhere that matters.

Before You Send
None of it is compulsory. The more you include, the sooner we can reply with a firm written price rather than a question.
01
The date, both addresses, pickup and destination, and the hour you need to arrive by rather than leave.
02
How many travelling, how many large cases and cabin bags, plus the ages of any children so the right seats go in.
03
A single journey, a return, or the car held for several hours. Tell us if those timings could move.
04
Give a flight number and we can plan against the published schedule; name the event and we know which gate, and which traffic plan applies.
05
Naming a category will do, or leave it to us to suggest one that fits the party and the distance.
06
Any accessibility requirements, a route you prefer, a stop somewhere along the way, or simply a quiet car and no conversation.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Before anyone drives for us they are licensed, insured and vetted. Ahead of the day your chauffeur reads the journey through, and turns up dressed for the occasion.
No branding appears on the cars. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and whatever gets said behind the front seats goes no further.
Cars of the current generation, valeted ahead of each journey, still water and charging in the rear compartment.
One person takes your enquiry, writes the quotation and sees the booking through, so you never explain anything twice.
