The Autobiography specification is where it becomes a genuine chauffeur car. Rear seats recline and are heated, ventilated and massaging; the cabin is trimmed to the standard of anything from Stuttgart; and the commanding seating position gives passengers a view over hedgerows and traffic alike.

It is the car we suggest for country-house weekends, for estate and shoot travel, and for winter journeys when the forecast is uncertain. It is equally at ease pulling up outside a Knightsbridge hotel — arguably the most fluent car in Britain at moving between those two worlds in a single day.

Long-wheelbase examples add considerable rear legroom. Where the specification matters to you, tell us in advance and we will confirm what can be arranged.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs

Why Clients Choose the Range Rover Autobiography

  • 01

    Welcome at both ends

Few cars move between a Mayfair hotel forecourt and a farm track without looking out of place at one of them. This one manages it daily.

  • 02

    Weather stops mattering

When the forecast is uncertain and the journey cannot be, a Range Rover chauffeur booking removes the conversation about whether the car will get there.

  • 03

    Quietly British

For overseas visitors touring here, arriving in the car most associated with the British countryside is part of the experience rather than incidental to it.

  • 04

    Sightlines that matter

Passengers see over hedgerows, walls and the vehicle in front. On a scenic route that is not a detail, it is the entire point.

Choosing This Car

Autobiography against the alternatives

Once you are considering a luxury SUV with a chauffeur, the question above this car is the Cullinan. That motor car is more special, more isolated and considerably more of an event, and for a wedding or a landmark day it is worth every consideration. For a working weekend, a shooting party or a week of touring with luggage and muddy boots, the Range Rover is the more relaxed choice, and nobody spends the journey worrying about the paintwork on a hedge-lined lane.

Three large cases and three cabin bags is accurate but the shape matters more here than in any saloon. The load space is tall rather than long, so soft bags and cases stack upwards well, and a split tailgate gives you a shelf to rest things on while loading. The load lip is high, which is a consideration if you are handling your own equipment, though your chauffeur does the lifting. Four adults with four large cases is the point at which we recommend an MPV instead.

Access is the detail worth knowing. The standard seat height is a step up rather than a step down, which many older passengers actively prefer, and the air suspension can be lowered at the kerb to make that step shorter still. Ask and your chauffeur will set it before you arrive. On journeys past two hours the elevated position remains comfortable, though on the roughest motorway concrete a flagship saloon still transmits marginally less.

Four Steps

How Booking Works

Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.

  1. 01

    Tell us the journey

Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.

  2. 02

    We quote in writing

You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.

  3. 03

    The car is held

On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.

  4. 04

    Your chauffeur arrives

Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.

Corporate & Business

Rural business and winter diaries

A surprising amount of British business happens somewhere with no station and no pavement: distribution parks, agricultural sites, energy projects, private estates hosting corporate days. This is the vehicle that reaches all of them in a suit, carries four colleagues comfortably, and waits on unmade ground without difficulty while the meeting overruns. Nobody arrives having negotiated a farm gate in their own car.

Through winter it becomes the sensible choice for regional roadshows as well. Cross-country routes over the Pennines or through the Borders can close a schedule down entirely, and four driven wheels plus proper ground clearance keep a day on track when others are cancelling. Where a company books a run of these journeys, we hold the same chauffeurs on the account so the route knowledge builds.

Who We Drive

Who Books the Range Rover Autobiography

  • Country house guests

Weekend visitors to estates and shooting lodges where the last mile is gravel, cattle grids and a drive longer than most residential streets.

  • Wedding parties

Families travelling to marquee and barn venues, where a low saloon meets a wet field and the photographs are taken outdoors regardless.

  • Visiting families

International clients touring the Cotswolds, the Lakes or the Highlands with children, who want space, a view out and no anxiety about the roads.

  • Winter business travel

Executives with unmovable commitments in January and February, travelling routes where a rear-wheel-drive saloon becomes a genuine risk the moment the temperature drops overnight.

Events & Occasions

Estates, shoots and celebrations

Rural weddings are where this car is requested most. It handles the church-to-marquee leg without leaving anybody picking their way across grass in unsuitable shoes, and it looks entirely correct parked in front of a stone house. Many couples pair it with something ceremonial for themselves and use this for parents, attendants and the wider party throughout the day.

Beyond weddings, it suits the season: point-to-points, game fairs, polo, county shows, and the long weekends where the itinerary is a house, a lunch and a walk in that order. For a multi-day tour it is genuinely pleasant to sit in for hours at a time, which matters far more than it sounds when the plan involves five counties in four days.

Timing & Availability

Seasonal demand and notice

Demand here is strongly seasonal rather than steady. Late spring through early autumn takes the wedding and country events traffic; the shooting season and the weeks either side of Christmas take the rest. Across those periods, Saturdays and Fridays go weeks in advance, and Autobiography specification specifically is a narrower pool than the model as a whole, so name it early if it matters.

Midweek and out of season, a few days is usually sufficient. Long-wheelbase examples are scarcer everywhere and worth requesting at enquiry rather than assuming. As with everything we arrange, the exact vehicle comes from our own cars or from a vetted professional operator, and model, colour and specification stay subject to availability until your booking is confirmed in writing.

Professional Chauffeur Standards

The Standard We Hold

What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.

  • Vetted professional chauffeurs

Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.

  • Discretion by default

Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.

  • Immaculate vehicles

Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.

  • One point of contact

The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.
