Larger, more theatrical, unarguably the greater occasion: that is the Phantom, and at a formal wedding or on a red carpet the difference between them is real. Better in every case, though? No. At a modest venue this car is easier to place, less imposing in the photographs of a small ceremony, and a good deal less conspicuous when the celebration is a private one. Spend the extra when the arrival is the point. Not as a default.

Weekend-sized is the honest description of the boot, not relocation-sized, which fits what this motor car was built to do. Two large cases and two cabin bags is the working figure. Across a wedding day that covers dresses carried flat, a change of shoes and the going-away luggage with room to spare. Ask the same booking to shift a family and a fortnight of suitcases to an airport afterwards, and we would put a second vehicle to you instead of pretending it all fits.

Saturdays from May through September are the pinch, and inside that stretch the dates closest to a bank holiday disappear soonest. Midweek dates and winter dates are far easier, frequently at a few weeks of notice.
