Which entrance will be used, where the car can legally hold, how long the walk from kerb to door really takes, and what we do instead if the front of the building is jammed. We run confidentiality as a working rule, not a line of copy. Only the chauffeur covering that journey sees names, addresses or itineraries. No chauffeur photographs a vehicle while passengers are in it, none of them post about the work, and none will confirm to anybody that a booking even exists. The objective decides the car. For a private arrival, a dark saloon that draws no glance is usually the right answer. A premiere, a gala, an entrance that will be photographed: there a Rolls-Royce or Maybach earns its place, because being seen is the point. We will tell you straight which one we would put you in, and when the showier choice would work against you.

If a security team, a management company or a private office sits in the middle of this, we take their brief and keep them informed rather than working around them. Changes arrive late in this line of work; we assume they will. So anything with a published start time gets an alternative route and a second waiting position held in reserve.
