Coming in, the A23 moves fast until Patcham, then turns into a city road, with the Preston Park and London Road stretch queueing all day and badly at the evening peak. On a hot summer Saturday the entire corridor down from the M23 can crawl. Across the top of the city, the A27 is your route for Lewes, Shoreham and the Downs, and its junctions at Falmer and Hollingbury are where it slows, above all around football fixtures at the stadium.
