Gatwick is two airports in practice. The North and South Terminals are separated by a shuttle, each with its own approach off the M23, and the difference matters most on the day you are running late. We ask which terminal you need at the time of booking and confirm it back to you in writing, because a chauffeur waiting in the wrong arrivals hall is of no use to anybody.
For collections your chauffeur parks, walks in and waits in the arrivals hall with a name board, then takes the cases and leads you out to the car. Give us the flight number and we plan the pickup around the published schedule and the clearance time we would ordinarily allow at Gatwick. If the bags are slow to appear, a message on WhatsApp is enough and nothing is rushed.
Departures from London are a matter of judging the A23 and the M23 honestly. North Terminal, South Terminal and the M23
The two terminals are separate buildings with separate arrivals halls, joined by a shuttle that takes a few minutes to ride and rather longer to find with luggage. Your chauffeur waits in the hall belonging to your flight, holding a name board near the doors. From landing to those doors typically runs half an hour or so, longer when several aircraft reclaim baggage together, and we allow for that rather than hope.
Access from the north comes off the M23 at junction 9, where the airport spur splits for North and South before you have much chance to reconsider. Set-down sits close to the terminal entrances and carries a charge, which is covered by the price we quote; the walk from the kerb to the check-in desks is short at both. Give us the terminal, or the flight number if you are unsure, and the correct approach is taken first time.
The road in is the variable. The M23 and the A23 through Crawley thicken from mid-afternoon on a Friday and stay heavy through the early evening, while the M25 clockwise between junctions 7 and 8 is the usual culprit for anyone coming from west London. Before six in the morning the whole run is straightforward. We set the collection time to the day you are actually travelling rather than to an average.

Timing & Availability
Notice, peaks and early starts
Half-term Saturdays, the last Friday in July and the days around Christmas and New Year fill first at Gatwick, and larger vehicles fill before saloons. Midweek in the winter is a different world and same-week bookings are frequently possible. There is nothing to lose by asking: send the date and the outline and we will tell you plainly what is available.
First departures leave very early here and the security halls open long before them, so collections at three or four in the morning are unremarkable rather than exceptional. Confirm the evening before and nothing needs discussing at the door. Arrivals after midnight are equally routine, and a message on WhatsApp is all it takes to move a pickup that has slipped.
