Three passenger terminals sit on one large site off junction 5 of the M56, linked by a covered walkway. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 each have their own drop-off and their own approach, and the difference between them is a genuine walk with cases in hand. We confirm your terminal at the time of booking so your chauffeur pulls up at the correct door rather than the nearest one.
From central Manchester the airport is close, usually well under half an hour, which tempts people into leaving late. Long-haul departures need a wider margin than the distance suggests, particularly at the start of the summer holidays when the drop-off roads back up. We set the collection time with that in mind rather than to the minute, and your chauffeur arrives early and waits quietly outside.

Three passenger terminals share one very large site, and each keeps its own arrivals hall; the linking walkway is covered but long enough to regret with a trolley. We confirm the building rather than assume it, particularly while the airport works through a lengthy redevelopment that has moved airlines between terminals more than once. Your chauffeur waits inside the correct hall, and the walk from there to the car is short.
Clearance times vary more here than the distance suggests. A European arrival mid-afternoon is often through in twenty-five minutes or so; an overnight long-haul landing into the morning bank, with several wide-bodies at immigration together, can take considerably longer. We plan around the published schedule you give us and build the allowance for the type of flight rather than applying one figure to every booking.
The airport hangs off junction 5 of the M56 on a dedicated spur, with the A538 running in from the Cheshire side. From the city the drive is short, but the Mancunian Way and the M60 around Stockport both slow badly at peak, and the terminal forecourts, which carry a charge for stopping, congest badly once the school holidays begin. Before six in the morning none of that applies.

The busiest windows are the first weekend of the summer holidays, February half term, and the fortnight around Christmas, when larger vehicles are committed weeks ahead. Autumn and late winter are far easier, and a car can usually be found at short notice. Give us the date, the terminal and an outline, and we will say what genuinely remains available.
Anyone leaving on a long-haul flight should allow rather more than the drive time alone implies, because the queue that costs you time sits at the terminal rather than on the motorway. Very early collections from Cheshire and south Manchester are routine work, and confirming the evening before means nothing at all has to be decided at dawn.
