One terminal takes every arrival, and your chauffeur waits inside it holding a name board instead of circling the roads outside in hope of a phone call. As soon as you appear the bags go straight into the boot. Departures come down to the M1 and nothing else. Junction 10 drops you within a couple of miles of the terminal, yet the last approach climbs, narrows and eats far more minutes than any map admits. We add that time in advance rather than discover it, and your chauffeur is at your door ahead of the agreed hour, which means no hurrying at the far end of the drive.
A single passenger terminal, with set-down close to the entrance, sits alongside a separate business aviation side for private aircraft. Flying privately? Perched above the town on a hill, the airport is reached by a final stretch from junction 10 of the M1 that behaves nothing like the two miles it measures. That approach road climbs, narrows and queues at peak times, and it is the roundabouts near the terminal where delay genuinely piles up. Coming from the east or north, the A505 and A6 are sometimes the better line, and your chauffeur decides between them on the day.
Everything runs through a single passenger terminal. Set-down bays closest to the doors carry a charge for stopping, while the less expensive option further out involves a walk nobody wants with a fortnight of luggage. This building has grown a great deal in recent years and its layout has shifted with it, so the current set-down arrangement gets confirmed before the day rather than puzzled out at the kerb.
By London standards the arrivals hall is small, which makes finding your chauffeur straightforward. Between touchdown and that point, expect roughly half an hour on a European flight, longer when two or three aircraft reclaim at once. The first departures start very early and the final arrivals land very late, so a collection before four in the morning and a pickup after midnight are both entirely ordinary here.

Executive travel through Luton
Running from Watford up through Milton Keynes and Northampton is the corporate corridor Luton serves, and much of our work along it is a director flying out on Monday and returning on Thursday.
