Sitting on the edge of town, junction 19 of the M6 cuts both ways. North or south, you are on the motorway in moments; the trouble is that the M6 across Cheshire cannot be relied upon, and one incident between junctions 18 and 20 will cost you twenty minutes with nowhere sensible to divert.
