Chauffeur Service St Ives
Nowhere else in Cornwall does the sensible advice run quite like this: turn up at St Ives without a car and let somebody else fret about it.
Quoted individually. Give us the outline and a written price comes back to you: no rate card, no obligation whatsoever.
Light, sand and steep granite streets turned this into a painters' town a hundred years ago, and the Tate on Porthmeor has kept it that way. Four beaches, a working harbour and a tangle of lanes above them pull enormous crowds in from Easter through to October. Come winter, a quieter and frankly better town shows itself. Guests arrive for gallery weekends, for long summers in houses above Porthgwidden and Porthminster, and for weddings out on the headland with sea on three sides.
Cars and the old town do not agree. Fore Street and the lanes running off it are hardly wider than a doorway, several of them restricted or given over to walkers, and the drop down towards the harbour is steep with next to nowhere to turn. What works in practice is a set-down at the top of the town, or at an agreed spot on the harbour road, then a booked collection from the same place. In season, parking within walking distance of anything is a fiction.
Over the hill, Penzance is twenty-five minutes. Truro takes about an hour, Newquay an hour and ten when the day is kind. Bristol Airport runs to four or four and forty, and London by road really is six to seven hours, which is why the branch line from St Erth and the main line services carry so much weight here. Have a car meet the train and deal with the last steep mile, and that is usually the whole requirement.

Local Knowledge
There is a reason the park and ride at St Erth and the branch line into St Ives exist: the town cannot swallow the cars. A chauffeur follows the same logic. What earns its keep is being carried to the door and met again at an agreed point, rather than hunting a space. Through August the A3074 down by Carbis Bay queues for long stretches of the day and the harbour road can stop dead, so collections carry generous margins and the exact spot is confirmed beforehand.
Outside the town the B3311 across the moor to Penzance and the coast road through Zennor are narrow, steep and lovely, with passing places and blind bends that repay patience. Sea fog arrives fast along this coast. For a departure from Bristol in high season we would leave St Ives five to five and a half hours ahead, because the A30 across Cornwall is the stretch that most reliably turns a long journey into a very long one.
Why Luxury Chauffeurs
01
Load the luggage once. That same vehicle then stays with you the whole way, from a London doorstep to a village hotel at the far end of the country.
02
Down a lane, across gravel, up to a gatehouse: that closing stretch of a journey happens to be precisely the part public transport cannot manage at all.
03
We price a regional journey whole, return leg and any waiting included, which leaves nothing at all to be worked out once you reach the far end.
04
Each place here gets its own page: what a chauffeur genuinely does on the ground, honest road timings, and where the car can wait once you arrive.

Four Steps
Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.
01
Message us on WhatsApp with your date, the addresses and roughly how the day looks, or fill in the journey planner instead. Nothing is owed either way, and getting a price asks for no card details at all.
02
Back comes a written quotation setting out the vehicle, the timings and everything included. No estimate that shifts afterwards, and no surge pricing.
03
Once you confirm, your date has a vehicle against it and a named professional chauffeur, with the terms set down in writing.
04
Your chauffeur is briefed beforehand on the route, the access and where the waiting happens, so nothing gets decided at the kerb.
Included as Standard
Quoted as one price. No hidden extras added at the end of the journey.
St Ives chauffeur hire, in a town whose streets defeat a car and whose parking defeats everyone.

Corporate & Business
Outside London, business travel is where the road wins hands down. A site in an industrial park. A client on a business park hanging off a motorway junction. Two offices in two different cities on one day. Not one of those sits near a station, and every one of them is straightforward by car. What happens on the drive between them is preparation, rather than an interval spent waiting about for a connection.
Administratively, nationwide chauffeur work is easier to keep hold of. Across a two-day itinerary you have one booking, one written quotation and one chauffeur, in place of a tangle of tickets, transfers and receipts. When a team travels together the conversation carries on inside the car, and that often turns out to be the most productive hour of the trip, the one nobody thought to plan. Accounts can be set up for regular regional travel.
Who We Drive
Couples bound for a spa town, a country house or a coastal hotel, who would far rather have the break start at their own front door.
Directors calling on offices, sites and plants out in cities where a hire car plus an unfamiliar ring road would swallow most of the morning.
Christenings, graduations, anniversaries held in the part of the country everybody left, reached without three changes and a rural taxi waiting at the end.
Visitors keen to see Britain itself instead of the inside of terminals, and who put a value on one arrangement spanning several counties.
Events & Occasions
Of every journey there is, a country wedding repays a chauffeur most. The venue sits at the end of a lane. Parking is a field. The reception runs late, and by midnight the drive home is the last thing anybody wants in their head. Book it properly and the car waits exactly where you agreed it would, leaving one decision only: which of you falls asleep first.
Leisure travel gains something else again. Give a weekend in a spa town, a college city or a stretch of coastline a route that belongs to you, and it improves at once. A detour to some church one of you read about. A long lunch nobody has to abandon for a train. An afternoon stretched out because the weather turned generous. The car waits through all of it, and the day holds its own shape.

Airport Transfers
Give it 4 hours to 4 hours 40 minutes, more in slow traffic.
Inside the terminal, a name board goes up and your chauffeur waits with it, then carries the bags to the car. Give us a flight number and the collection is planned around the published schedule and how long clearing normally takes. Departures run the other way. We start at the check-in you want to make and count backwards, leaving room for the road and the hour of day.

Timing & Availability
On a long journey, Britain's weather does more damage than its traffic ever will. Winter afternoons close in early, and that matters a great deal when the final leg is a single-track road. Highland and moorland routes can run substantially longer than any summer estimate suggests. Those allowances go into the timings from the start, rather than being discovered together halfway up a glen. Where a departure hour makes the schedule uncomfortable, we propose a better one.
Demand tracks the calendar closely. Bank holiday weekends fill fast, so do the weeks either side of Christmas, the summer wedding season and those university terms that all begin and end together. The further from London a journey runs, the sooner a car wants committing to it. Midweek travel in the shoulder months, by contrast, is the easiest thing in the world to arrange.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Before anyone drives for us they are licensed, insured and vetted. Ahead of the day your chauffeur reads the journey through, and turns up dressed for the occasion.
No branding appears on the cars. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and whatever gets said behind the front seats goes no further.
Cars of the current generation, valeted ahead of each journey, still water and charging in the rear compartment.
One person takes your enquiry, writes the quotation and sees the booking through, so you never explain anything twice.
