Chauffeur Service Wells
Wells is the smallest city in England and has one of the finest cathedral closes anywhere, reached through a medieval gate.

A cathedral with a scissor arch, a moated bishop's palace and a street of vicars' houses in continuous occupation since the fourteenth century make this an extraordinary place for its size. The market square fills twice a week and empties by evening. Visitors come for the cathedral and its music, for the Mendip caves and gorges just north, for Glastonbury a few miles south, and for the country hotels and private houses hidden in the villages around the hills.
There is no railway station, so every arrival and departure is by road and the railheads at Castle Cary, Bath and Bristol carry the load. In the city, the gates into the Cathedral Green and the Vicars' Close are medieval and narrow, and the market square has restricted access on market days, so set-downs are agreed rather than assumed. North of here the Mendip roads climb steeply, and Cheddar Gorge itself is narrow, twisting and busy with pedestrians all summer.
Bristol Airport sits only thirty-five to fifty-five minutes away over the Mendips on the A39 and A38. Bath takes around forty-five minutes, Bristol the same, Glastonbury fifteen and Cheddar twenty. London by road runs to two and three quarter to three and a half hours, which is why a car to Castle Cary or Bath for a fast train is the arrangement many regular visitors settle into.

Local Knowledge
Late June changes everything here. The festival at Pilton, a few miles east, brings very heavy traffic onto the A39, the A361 and the lanes around Shepton Mallet and West Pennard for the best part of a week, with queues on the approach days and a long, slow exit afterwards. Castle Cary station is the rail gateway and becomes extremely busy. We plan around the whole week rather than the weekend, and we say plainly when a journey needs to start much earlier than usual.
The Mendip roads have their own character. The climbs out of Wells towards Priddy and the Gorge are steep with sharp bends, Cheddar Gorge is narrow and full of walkers and cyclists in season, and winter brings ice and occasional snow to the higher stretches long after the lowland roads have cleared. For a first flight from Bristol we would leave Wells around an hour and three quarters ahead, and more in poor weather.
Why Luxury Chauffeurs
01
Luggage is loaded once and the same vehicle stays with you from a London doorstep to a village hotel at the far end of the country.
02
The part of a journey that ends down a lane, on gravel or at a gatehouse is exactly the part public transport cannot manage at all.
03
Regional journeys are priced as a whole, including the return leg and any waiting, so there is nothing left to work out at the far end.
04
Every place has its own page covering what a chauffeur actually does there, honest road timings, and where a car can wait once you arrive.

Four Steps
Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.
01
Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.
02
You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.
03
On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.
04
Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.
Included as Standard
Quoted as one price. No hidden extras added at the end of the journey.
Chauffeur travel in Wells, England's smallest city, with the Mendips and Glastonbury nearby.

Corporate & Business
Business travel outside London is where the road wins most clearly. A site in an industrial park, a client on a business park off a motorway junction, two offices in different cities on the same day: none of those sit near a station, and all of them are straightforward by car. The drive between them becomes preparation time rather than an interval spent waiting for a connection.
Nationwide chauffeur work is also easier to control administratively. One booking, one written quotation and one chauffeur across a two-day itinerary replaces a tangle of tickets, transfers and receipts. Where a team travels together the conversation continues in the car, which is often the most productive hour of the trip and the one nobody thought to plan. Accounts can be arranged for regular regional travel.
Who We Drive
Couples heading for a spa town, a country house or a coastal hotel who would much rather begin the break at their own front door.
Directors visiting offices, sites and plants in cities where a hire car and an unfamiliar ring road would waste most of the morning.
Christenings, graduations and anniversaries in the part of the country everyone left, reached without three changes and a rural taxi at the end.
Visitors who want to see Britain properly rather than the inside of terminals, and who value a single arrangement across several counties.
Events & Occasions
The country wedding is the journey that most repays a chauffeur. Venues sit at the end of lanes, parking is a field, the reception runs late and the drive home is the last thing anybody wants to think about at midnight. Booked properly, the car is waiting exactly where it was agreed, and the only decision left is who is falling asleep first.
Leisure travel benefits differently. A weekend in a spa town, a college city or a stretch of coastline turns into something better when the route is yours: a detour to a church someone read about, a long lunch that nobody has to leave for a train, an afternoon extended because the weather turned generous. The car simply waits, and the day keeps its own shape.

Airport Transfers
Typically 35 minutes to 55 minutes depending on traffic
Your chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name board and helps with luggage to the car. Share a flight number and we plan the pickup around the published schedule and typical clearance times. For departures we work backwards from the check-in you want to make, allowing for the road and the hour of day.

Timing & Availability
Britain's weather does more to a long journey than its traffic does. Winter afternoons close in early, which matters when the last leg is a single-track road, and Highland and moorland routes can take substantially longer than a summer estimate suggests. We build that into the timings rather than discovering it together, and where a departure hour makes a schedule uncomfortable we will suggest a better one.
Demand follows the calendar. Bank holiday weekends, the weeks either side of Christmas, the summer wedding season and the university terms that begin and end together all fill quickly, and the further from London a journey runs, the earlier a car should be committed to it. Midweek travel in the shoulder months is the easiest thing in the world to arrange.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.
Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.
Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.
The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.

Where We Travel
