A cathedral close of extraordinary quality, a university that fills the city with energy and a quayside that has been reinvented without being ruined make Exeter far more than a staging post. Business travel is constant, with legal, university and health sectors keeping the hotels busy midweek. Beyond that, this is where a great many journeys to Cornwall and south Devon properly begin, and where guests often break a long run west into two civilised halves.

The city itself is awkward to drive and always has been. The medieval core has bus gates, restricted access streets and one-way arrangements around the Cathedral Green that catch out visitors weekly, while the quay is reached down a steep, narrow approach. St Davids station sits below the city on a cramped forecourt, so we meet arrivals at an agreed point. Park and ride sites at Honiton Road, Sowton and Matford tell you where the daily queues form.

Bristol Airport takes roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and three quarters up the M5. Heading the other way, Plymouth is around an hour, Torquay forty minutes, and Truro two hours or a little more once the A30 is in play. London by road is a genuine three and a half to four and a half hours, which is why so many guests take the train to St Davids and keep a car for the rest of the week.

Local Knowledge

Where the M5 stops

Junction 31 is the point at which the country changes character. West of it the A30 and A38 are dual for long stretches but they are not motorway, and both carry the entire holiday flow into Devon and Cornwall. On summer Saturdays the queues start early and last for hours, particularly around the A30 at Whiddon Down and the A38 climb over Haldon. Any journey west between late July and the end of August is planned with that assumption built in from the start.

In the city, the Exe crossings and the Alphington and Marsh Barton approaches are where time is lost during peaks, and matchdays at Sandy Park add substantially to the Sowton and junction 30 corridor. Cathedral Close collections need a set-down at an agreed corner rather than at the door. For an early flight from Bristol we would normally leave Exeter around two and a half hours ahead, and add to that on a holiday weekend.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs

Why Choose Us in Exeter

  • 01

    One movement, one car

Luggage is loaded once and the same vehicle stays with you from a London doorstep to a village hotel at the far end of the country.

  • 02

    The last mile

The part of a journey that ends down a lane, on gravel or at a gatehouse is exactly the part public transport cannot manage at all.

  • 03

    Quoted door to door

Regional journeys are priced as a whole, including the return leg and any waiting, so there is nothing left to work out at the far end.

  • 04

    Local detail throughout

Every place has its own page covering what a chauffeur actually does there, honest road timings, and where a car can wait once you arrive.

Luxury Vehicles

Choose Your Chauffeur Driven Car

From an executive saloon to a Rolls-Royce. Model, colour and specification are subject to availability and booking confirmation.

Four Steps

How Booking Works

Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.

  1. 01

    Tell us the journey

Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.

  2. 02

    We quote in writing

You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.

  3. 03

    The car is held

On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.

  4. 04

    Your chauffeur arrives

Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.

Corporate & Business

Regional and Multi-City Work

Business travel outside London is where the road wins most clearly. A site in an industrial park, a client on a business park off a motorway junction, two offices in different cities on the same day: none of those sit near a station, and all of them are straightforward by car. The drive between them becomes preparation time rather than an interval spent waiting for a connection.

Nationwide chauffeur work is also easier to control administratively. One booking, one written quotation and one chauffeur across a two-day itinerary replaces a tangle of tickets, transfers and receipts. Where a team travels together the conversation continues in the car, which is often the most productive hour of the trip and the one nobody thought to plan. Accounts can be arranged for regular regional travel.

Who We Drive

Who Travels with Us

  • Weekend travellers

Couples heading for a spa town, a country house or a coastal hotel who would much rather begin the break at their own front door.

  • Regional business

Directors visiting offices, sites and plants in cities where a hire car and an unfamiliar ring road would waste most of the morning.

  • Family occasions

Christenings, graduations and anniversaries in the part of the country everyone left, reached without three changes and a rural taxi at the end.

  • Overseas guests

Visitors who want to see Britain properly rather than the inside of terminals, and who value a single arrangement across several counties.

Events & Occasions

Escapes, Weddings and Visits

The country wedding is the journey that most repays a chauffeur. Venues sit at the end of lanes, parking is a field, the reception runs late and the drive home is the last thing anybody wants to think about at midnight. Booked properly, the car is waiting exactly where it was agreed, and the only decision left is who is falling asleep first.

Leisure travel benefits differently. A weekend in a spa town, a college city or a stretch of coastline turns into something better when the route is yours: a detour to a church someone read about, a long lunch that nobody has to leave for a train, an afternoon extended because the weather turned generous. The car simply waits, and the day keeps its own shape.

Airport chauffeur transfers from Exeter

Airport Transfers

Exeter to Bristol Airport

Typically 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes depending on traffic

Your chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name board and helps with luggage to the car. Share a flight number and we plan the pickup around the published schedule and typical clearance times. For departures we work backwards from the check-in you want to make, allowing for the road and the hour of day.

Timing & Availability

Seasons, Daylight and Weather

Britain's weather does more to a long journey than its traffic does. Winter afternoons close in early, which matters when the last leg is a single-track road, and Highland and moorland routes can take substantially longer than a summer estimate suggests. We build that into the timings rather than discovering it together, and where a departure hour makes a schedule uncomfortable we will suggest a better one.

Demand follows the calendar. Bank holiday weekends, the weeks either side of Christmas, the summer wedding season and the university terms that begin and end together all fill quickly, and the further from London a journey runs, the earlier a car should be committed to it. Midweek travel in the shoulder months is the easiest thing in the world to arrange.

Professional Chauffeur Standards

The Standard We Hold

What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.

  • Vetted professional chauffeurs

Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.

  • Discretion by default

Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.

  • Immaculate vehicles

Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.

  • One point of contact

The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.
