Junction ten, where the M25 meets the A3 at Wisley, is the local weak point and has been subject to long-running improvement works, so we treat any timing through it with caution and often route by junction eleven at Chertsey instead. Northbound towards Heathrow the M25 slows from around seven in the morning; the anticlockwise carriageway backs up from four. When it is genuinely blocked, the A320 and A308 through Chertsey and Staines is the more reliable of the alternatives.
