Chauffeur Service Canterbury
Walls enclose Canterbury, a cathedral stands at the middle of it, and a ring road runs around the outer edge. Nearly every practical question about visiting the city follows from those two facts.
Quoted individually. Give us the outline and a written price comes back to you: no rate card, no obligation whatsoever.
Few English cities are lovelier than this one behind its walls, and few are worse arranged for a motor car: a medieval street plan, the precincts, the river running through. People arrive to see the cathedral, to sit in the theatre, to attend graduation weeks at the two universities, to watch cricket at the county ground, and to reach the Kent countryside and the coast, which start a few minutes beyond the ring. Pilgrims here, students there. Both tend to descend at the same moment.
Nearly the whole historic centre is pedestrianised or access restricted, with bollards and timed entry on the main streets, so nobody gets dropped at the cathedral door. Instead we use the established set down points just outside the walls, a short and rather pleasant walk from most hotels, and the exact spot is agreed before you travel. Canterbury West carries the high speed service to St Pancras and has the easier forecourt of the two stations, so that is where guests are met, well away from the rank.
London City is the closest airport we cover, an hour and twenty five to two hours as a rule, via the A2 and M2. Gatwick runs nearer an hour and three quarters to two and a quarter by way of the M20 and M25, with Heathrow longer again. Central London by road takes an hour and a half to well over two hours. Dover lies about half an hour off, Whitstable and the coast fifteen minutes, Leeds Castle around forty.

Local Knowledge
Running clockwise around the walls, the ring road is a one way system that you overshoot easily and correct slowly, which is exactly why we agree set down points instead of trusting to the moment. Most through traffic uses Rheims Way and the A28 towards Ashford, and both queue at the peaks and on Saturdays. The A2 up to London moves fast and the M2 beyond it is usually dependable, though any Channel disruption at Dover pushes freight onto it and adds time with no warning.
For several days at a stretch, graduation weeks pack the cathedral, the hotels and every road inside the walls, and cricket week at the county ground does the same, as does the arts festival in autumn. Coach parties come in from mid morning through the season and take the main approaches. Out towards Chilham, Bridge and Wingham, where the country houses and vineyards are, the lanes narrow and bend blind, so we ask for a landmark, since several drives are unmarked from the road.
Why Luxury Chauffeurs
01
Load the luggage once. That same vehicle then stays with you the whole way, from a London doorstep to a village hotel at the far end of the country.
02
Down a lane, across gravel, up to a gatehouse: that closing stretch of a journey happens to be precisely the part public transport cannot manage at all.
03
We price a regional journey whole, return leg and any waiting included, which leaves nothing at all to be worked out once you reach the far end.
04
Each place here gets its own page: what a chauffeur genuinely does on the ground, honest road timings, and where the car can wait once you arrive.

Four Steps
Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.
01
Message us on WhatsApp with your date, the addresses and roughly how the day looks, or fill in the journey planner instead. Nothing is owed either way, and getting a price asks for no card details at all.
02
Back comes a written quotation setting out the vehicle, the timings and everything included. No estimate that shifts afterwards, and no surge pricing.
03
Once you confirm, your date has a vehicle against it and a named professional chauffeur, with the terms set down in writing.
04
Your chauffeur is briefed beforehand on the route, the access and where the waiting happens, so nothing gets decided at the kerb.
Included as Standard
Quoted as one price. No hidden extras added at the end of the journey.
Chauffeured travel around Canterbury, a city whose walls shut cars out while a car on standby keeps you going.

Corporate & Business
Outside London, business travel is where the road wins hands down. A site in an industrial park. A client on a business park hanging off a motorway junction. Two offices in two different cities on one day. Not one of those sits near a station, and every one of them is straightforward by car. What happens on the drive between them is preparation, rather than an interval spent waiting about for a connection.
Administratively, nationwide chauffeur work is easier to keep hold of. Across a two-day itinerary you have one booking, one written quotation and one chauffeur, in place of a tangle of tickets, transfers and receipts. When a team travels together the conversation carries on inside the car, and that often turns out to be the most productive hour of the trip, the one nobody thought to plan. Accounts can be set up for regular regional travel.
Who We Drive
Couples bound for a spa town, a country house or a coastal hotel, who would far rather have the break start at their own front door.
Directors calling on offices, sites and plants out in cities where a hire car plus an unfamiliar ring road would swallow most of the morning.
Christenings, graduations, anniversaries held in the part of the country everybody left, reached without three changes and a rural taxi waiting at the end.
Visitors keen to see Britain itself instead of the inside of terminals, and who put a value on one arrangement spanning several counties.
Events & Occasions
Of every journey there is, a country wedding repays a chauffeur most. The venue sits at the end of a lane. Parking is a field. The reception runs late, and by midnight the drive home is the last thing anybody wants in their head. Book it properly and the car waits exactly where you agreed it would, leaving one decision only: which of you falls asleep first.
Leisure travel gains something else again. Give a weekend in a spa town, a college city or a stretch of coastline a route that belongs to you, and it improves at once. A detour to some church one of you read about. A long lunch nobody has to abandon for a train. An afternoon stretched out because the weather turned generous. The car waits through all of it, and the day holds its own shape.

Airport Transfers
Usually 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours, though traffic shifts it
Inside the terminal, a name board goes up and your chauffeur waits with it, then carries the bags to the car. Give us a flight number and the collection is planned around the published schedule and how long clearing normally takes. Departures run the other way. We start at the check-in you want to make and count backwards, leaving room for the road and the hour of day.

Timing & Availability
On a long journey, Britain's weather does more damage than its traffic ever will. Winter afternoons close in early, and that matters a great deal when the final leg is a single-track road. Highland and moorland routes can run substantially longer than any summer estimate suggests. Those allowances go into the timings from the start, rather than being discovered together halfway up a glen. Where a departure hour makes the schedule uncomfortable, we propose a better one.
Demand tracks the calendar closely. Bank holiday weekends fill fast, so do the weeks either side of Christmas, the summer wedding season and those university terms that all begin and end together. The further from London a journey runs, the sooner a car wants committing to it. Midweek travel in the shoulder months, by contrast, is the easiest thing in the world to arrange.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Before anyone drives for us they are licensed, insured and vetted. Ahead of the day your chauffeur reads the journey through, and turns up dressed for the occasion.
No branding appears on the cars. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and whatever gets said behind the front seats goes no further.
Cars of the current generation, valeted ahead of each journey, still water and charging in the rear compartment.
One person takes your enquiry, writes the quotation and sees the booking through, so you never explain anything twice.
