Any long journey out of Morecambe starts with the hop across to the M6. The A683 link to junction 34 is fast enough on paper, but it feeds through the same roundabouts that carry Lancaster's northern traffic, and during the morning peak or on a Friday afternoon that short stretch will cost you fifteen minutes.
