A single terminal, a single approach, and junction 6 of the M42 practically at the door: few airports in the country are simpler to reach by car than Birmingham. The site shares its land with the National Exhibition Centre, so on event days the surrounding roads fill in a way that distance alone would never predict. Before your collection time is settled, we look at what is on.
Plenty of long-haul traffic moves between Birmingham, the Gulf and the subcontinent, and an arrival of that sort earns more allowance than a short hop back from Europe. That is why the flight number matters: with it, the plan follows the published schedule and the clearance time we would normally allow at this airport. A name board goes up in the arrivals hall, your chauffeur takes the cases off you, and the walk out to the car is done together.
Departures here are refreshingly unfussy. Set-down leaves a short walk to check-in, and unless something large is running at the NEC the approach flows at almost any hour. Out of the city centre we generally allow around half an hour; from Solihull or the Warwickshire villages, rather less than that. Arrivals stay simple with one terminal: passengers emerge into a single hall, and your chauffeur is already there holding a name board. Off a European flight, allow around half an hour from landing; after a long-haul arrival from the Gulf or the subcontinent, allow a good deal more, since reclaim and passport control both take their time. Collection is planned around the published schedule, with waiting added rather than assumed.
Close to the entrance sit the set-down bays, chargeable for the few minutes you need, with check-in only a few steps further on. The site itself is what alters the picture: land is shared with the exhibition centre and the arena, so a major show or a concert can stretch a five-minute approach into something much longer. Which means the event calendar counts every bit as much as the traffic, and it is one of the first things we look at.
Junction 6 of the M42 sits practically at the door, the A45 runs in from the city, and the M6 lies close by to the north. That closeness is why the drive is usually simple, and also why it occasionally is not: the interchange between those two motorways ranks among the busiest in the country, and one incident there takes the obvious route away. Early mornings are clear without fail.

Busiest here are school holidays and the weeks running up to Eid and Christmas, with larger vehicles for family groups the first to be spoken for. Show weeks at the exhibition centre tighten availability across the whole area too. Outside those, booking a few days ahead is usually straightforward, and midweek dates seldom cause any trouble.
Early departures mean collecting you while the motorway is still asleep, which repays the early alarm several times over. Should a flight slip, or an arrival run badly late, message us and the pickup gets moved. Your waiting allowance is planned around the schedule you gave us, and extended by agreement, never by surprise.
