In even numbered years Farnborough International holds its airshow in July, and local roads feel it considerably: the A325, the Farnborough Road and the approaches from junction four of the M3 carry event traffic for the best part of a week, with temporary parking arrangements and marshalled entry. Arrivals are planned early on those days, and the exit is agreed before you go in. Away from show weeks, those same roads have gone quiet again by mid morning.

Airport journeys are decided on one stretch: the M3 between junctions four and two, then the M25 northbound as far as junction fourteen, heavy from seven in the morning and heavy again late in the afternoon. For anything heading north through Camberley the A331 Blackwater Valley road is the useful alternative.
