Warwick is the most complete medieval castle in England still standing over its river, and it makes an unusually good day with children.

Warwick sits about two hours north of London and rewards an early start, partly for the drive and partly because the castle fills up. What makes it different from most English castles is that it is intact: walls, towers, gatehouse, Great Hall and state rooms, all standing above a bend in the Avon. You can walk the ramparts from one tower to the next, and the view down onto the river is the picture everyone takes.
It also happens to be a genuinely good day out with children, which is not something one says about many medieval sites. There are daily displays in the grounds through the season, the towers are climbable, and the scale of the place holds attention. Adults tend to get more from the state rooms and the chapel. Either way, four hours passes quickly and the castle is designed to absorb it.
The town beneath is often skipped and should not be. Lord Leycester Hospital, a timbered fourteenth-century range beside the West Gate, is one of the finest surviving medieval buildings in the country. The Mill Garden, at the end of Mill Street, gives you the classic view back to the castle over the water. Both are five minutes on foot from where your chauffeur will set you down.
With a car for the day, the neighbours become possible. Kenilworth Castle, fifteen minutes north, is a ruin of enormous romance with Elizabethan gardens recreated in the grounds. Stratford-upon-Avon is twenty minutes south. We provide the vehicle and the chauffeur only — your chauffeur is not a licensed guide, admission is booked by you, and we can arrange a qualified guide to travel with you if you would like one.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs
01
Leaving London before the peak turns a slow motorway crawl into a straightforward run, and puts you at the gate while the ramparts are still empty.
02
The car becomes the day's changing room: spare layers, packed lunches, a place to sit down when a six-year-old has climbed one tower too many.
03
Lord Leycester and the Mill Garden are five minutes from the gate and routinely missed. Your chauffeur sets you down for both without anyone rejoining a queue.
04
We drive; we do not interpret. Castle admission is bought by you, we advise on arrival times, and a qualified guide can be arranged to travel with the party.
At a Glance
Walls, towers and Great Hall all standing, with ramparts you can actually walk.
Five minutes from the gate and the best photograph of the castle you will take.
Kenilworth is fifteen minutes north and a completely different kind of ruin.
Local Knowledge
Four hours inside the castle is normal and five is common if there are children. Add an hour for the town below and you have used the day already, so Kenilworth or Stratford is a choice rather than an addition. From London the round trip is four hours of driving, which means an eight o'clock departure to reach opening and a comfortable return by early evening in summer.
Admission is arranged by you and is generally best secured in advance for a dated arrival, because the castle manages its numbers and the seasonal displays run to a published timetable. Tell us which display you want to catch and the morning is built to reach it. The estate car parks sit a walk from the gate, so your chauffeur will set you down as close as vehicles are permitted and then hold nearby.
The ramparts are the point of Warwick and they are also the physical price of it: narrow spiral stairs, uneven treads and no lift to the top of a tower. The grounds themselves are flat and easy. Wet weather sends everyone into the state rooms and the Great Hall, which absorb a crowd well enough, and Lord Leycester is covered. Your chauffeur is a driver, not a licensed guide; a qualified guide can be arranged.

Four Steps
Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.
01
Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.
02
You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.
03
On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.
04
Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.
Included as Standard

Corporate & Business
Birmingham, Coventry and the automotive corridor sit within half an hour of Warwick, which makes the castle the obvious afternoon when a visiting client has a spare half day. Rather than a hotel meeting room, they get a thousand years of English fortification and are back for dinner. Cars can be held from the airport, through the site visit and on to the evening without renegotiation.
Team away days and incentive groups take the same shape at larger scale, with several vehicles arriving together so the party is not strung out across an hour. Partner programmes attached to a Birmingham conference travel out after breakfast and return before the evening session. Group admission stays your booking, and a qualified guide can be engaged where the history is meant to be explained properly.
Who We Drive
Parties where everyone wants something different — towers for one, state rooms for another — and where a car nearby lets them split up and regroup.
Guests who want an English castle that is genuinely whole rather than a romantic ruin, and who would rather not decode two changes of train to reach it.
Two travellers taking the castle in the morning and Stratford in the afternoon, with a theatre evening on the end and no drive home to think about.
Older guests who want the Great Hall, the chapel and the river view but not the spiral staircases, and who need the car close when they have had enough.
Events & Occasions
Children's milestone birthdays end up here more often than anywhere else in the Midlands, and the reason is simple: the castle holds attention for a whole day. The private car makes the rest work — several families collected from different addresses, everyone arriving together, and cake carried in the boot rather than balanced on a lap for two hours.
Adults tend to come for the quieter parts: the chapel, the Great Hall, the view from the Mill Garden across the water. Couples marking an anniversary often add Kenilworth's ruins in the late afternoon, when the light through the empty windows is at its best. First-time visitors from abroad usually pair it with Stratford and consider the day complete.

Airports
Met in arrivals with a name board, luggage carried, and departures planned around your check-in.
Popular Journeys
Quoted door to door as a single movement, including the return leg and any waiting in between.
Timing & Availability
The castle is at its liveliest in the school holidays, when the seasonal programme runs at full stretch, and at its most peaceful in term-time midweek. Easter and late August are the busiest weeks of the year. Spring and early autumn give you the ramparts in comfortable temperatures. Winter brings short daylight, so the town and the Mill Garden are best taken before the light goes.
Half terms and the summer holidays are when the larger vehicles disappear first, so families should allow three or four weeks. Midweek dates outside the holidays can often be arranged at a few days' notice. Buy the dated admission before you confirm the car, then send us the arrival time and any display you want to catch, and the departure is set from there.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.
Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.
Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.
The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.

Where We Travel
London is where most of our work begins, but a chauffeur can be arranged to and from any address in the United Kingdom.
The shape of the day
Suggested only — the route is yours to change on the day. Your chauffeur is a professional driver, not a licensed tour guide, and admission tickets are arranged by you. A qualified guide can travel with you on request.
