Blenheim is the only non-royal country house in England called a palace, and the scale of it takes most of a day to absorb.
Quoted individually. Share the outline and we reply with a written price — no rate card, no obligation.
Blenheim sits at the edge of Woodstock, about ninety minutes from central London, and the approach is deliberately theatrical: you come through an arch and the whole thing — palace, lake, bridge, park — appears at once. Vanbrugh built it as a monument rather than a home, and it reads that way. The State Rooms take a good two hours if you look properly, and the long library alone justifies the drive.
Outside is where the day expands. Capability Brown flooded the valley in the 1760s to make the Great Lake, and in doing so half-submerged Vanbrugh's Grand Bridge, which is why it looks the way it does. Two thousand acres of parkland surround it. The Formal Gardens, the Water Terraces and the walled Rose Garden sit to the west of the house and are a completely separate pleasure from the interiors.
Churchill was born at Blenheim and is buried at Bladon, in the village churchyard two miles away, in a grave that is startlingly modest given everything else about the day. It takes ten minutes to visit and most people are glad they did. Woodstock itself, just outside the gates, is a handsome stone town with good places to eat and a very civilised place to end an afternoon.
How we work: we provide the car and the chauffeur, nothing more and nothing implied. Your chauffeur is not a licensed guide and will not accompany you around the house. Palace admission is arranged by you and the grounds close earlier in winter, so we will advise on a departure time that gives you enough daylight. A qualified guide can be arranged to travel with you if you would like one.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs
01
Your chauffeur takes you as far into the estate as visiting vehicles are allowed, then waits, so the walk to the house is short and the coats stay behind.
02
The State Rooms and the gardens are two separate half days. Having the car between them means you rest, change shoes and go back out again.
03
Churchill's grave is two miles from the palace and almost nobody without a car gets there. It is a short, quiet and unexpectedly moving detour.
04
Palace admission is purchased by you and we will advise which entry time leaves daylight for the park. Your chauffeur drives rather than guides, and a qualified guide can be arranged.
At a Glance
Through the arch and the palace, lake and bridge appear together. It is designed to do that.
Capability Brown's parkland is half the visit and needs proper time on foot.
Churchill's grave is two miles away and quietly one of the most affecting stops of the day.
Local Knowledge
Blenheim is two attractions on one ticket and most visitors underestimate the second. The State Rooms want two hours; the Formal Gardens another hour; the parkland, the Grand Bridge and the Column of Victory will take as long as you let them. Six hours on the estate is not excessive. Admission is arranged by you, and because entry to the house is timed, that slot decides whether the gardens come before or after.
The park keeps shorter hours in winter than the house, which catches people out. Between November and February we would leave London by half past eight so that the gardens are walked in usable light and the interiors fill the afternoon. Your chauffeur waits within the estate while you are inside, then collects you for the ten-minute run to Bladon and on into Woodstock, where set-down is at the door of wherever you are eating.
Distances inside the grounds are the real physical demand: the circuit of the lake and the bridge is several miles, and the gardens alone add a mile of gravel. Anyone unsteady should plan on the house, the Great Court and the Water Terraces only, all of which sit close together. On a wet day the interiors and the tea rooms carry it comfortably. Your chauffeur is a professional driver, not a licensed guide, though we can arrange a qualified one.

Four Steps
Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.
01
Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.
02
You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.
03
On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.
04
Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.
Included as Standard
Quoted as one price. No hidden extras added at the end of the journey.

Corporate & Business
Companies with a presence around Oxford and Bicester use the palace as the afternoon that turns a working visit into a memorable one. A car and chauffeur held from the airport through to the evening means a visiting client sees the house, walks the gardens and reaches dinner without a single logistical conversation. Multiple vehicles for a delegation are briefed together and run to one schedule.
Conference partner programmes work well here because the estate absorbs a whole day without anyone needing to walk far or keep to a group. Companions are collected after breakfast, spend the morning in the house and the afternoon in the park, and are returned before the evening reception. Your own admission booking sets the shape, and a qualified guide can be engaged to accompany the party.
Who We Drive
Visitors who came for Vanbrugh's baroque and stay for Capability Brown's landscape, and who need six hours rather than the ninety minutes a coach allows.
Two thousand acres, a lake and long open lawns mean the children are occupied while the adults look properly at the state rooms.
Two travellers adding the palace to an Oxford day, arriving mid-afternoon when the tour parties have thinned and the light across the lake is at its best.
Guests who have read the biographies and want the birth room, the archive and the grave at Bladon in one properly unhurried sequence.
Events & Occasions
A significant birthday spent walking through Vanbrugh's rooms and out onto the Water Terraces has a scale to it that few days can match. Anniversaries often pair the palace with lunch in Woodstock and a slow drive back through the Oxfordshire lanes. Because the car is yours until you say otherwise, an afternoon that overruns simply overruns, and nothing else has to be abandoned.
The quieter version is the one people remember longest: ten minutes at Bladon churchyard, where a family that shaped the century is buried under very plain stones. First-time visitors to England often find that contrast more affecting than the palace itself. Families following a Marlborough or an Oxfordshire connection can add village churches nearby without disturbing the rest of the day.

Timing & Availability
Spring gives you the formal gardens coming into their own; high summer gives the longest hours on the park; autumn turns the Brown landscape into the reason it was planted. Winter is the strongest in atmosphere and the tightest in daylight, and parts of the estate keep reduced hours or close for events, so it is always worth checking the palace's own calendar before you fix a date.
Summer weekends, half terms and the weeks when the estate hosts its larger events are the busiest, and the cars go first for those dates. Three weeks of notice covers most requests comfortably. Buy the palace admission before you enquire if you can, since the entry time is the one element we cannot move, and everything else in the day is built to sit around it.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.
Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.
Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.
The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.

Where We Travel
