Battersea Chauffeur Service

Battersea runs along the south bank opposite Chelsea, with the park and the river at its northern edge and Lavender Hill and Clapham Junction behind. The power station has become a destination in its own right, with shops, restaurants and offices inside it, and Nine Elms to the east has filled with new towers and the American embassy. Our passengers are a mixture of the new residential population, business travellers heading to Nine Elms, and people crossing the river for an evening.

The bridges are the practical constraint. Albert Bridge carries a weight limit that excludes heavier vehicles, so a larger MPV crosses at Chelsea or Battersea Bridge instead — worth knowing before a family sets off with luggage. Chelsea Bridge and Queenstown Road queue in the peaks. Around the power station the estate roads offer designated set-down points rather than open kerbside, and Prince of Wales Drive is restricted along the park. Battersea sits outside the congestion charge zone.

Travel here divides between the new and the old. The power station draws people for shopping, dinner and events; Battersea Park is a destination on a summer weekend and hosts events that close its internal roads; the restaurants around Battersea Square and up Lavender Hill serve the residential streets. Business journeys to Nine Elms and the embassy quarter are a growing part of what we do, as are transfers between here and the West End across the river.

Gatwick is the easy one from Battersea, typically 45 to 80 minutes down the A3 or via Clapham to the M23. Heathrow runs 40 to 75 minutes over Chelsea Bridge and along the A4, or west along the south bank to the M4. London City is usually 35 to 60 minutes. Central London is ten to twenty-five minutes over the river, which is why so many SW11 evenings end with a car rather than a night bus.
