The castle sits in the middle of the city with a park stretching away behind it, the Victorian arcades hold the shops worth finding, and the Bay has become a proper evening destination in its own right. When Wales play at the Principality Stadium the entire centre changes character within an hour, and the singing carries a long way further than the road closures do.

Match days shut roads across the city, and knowing which ones is most of the job. We work around them, and around the ordinary Cardiff journeys as well: Central and Queen Street stations, the hotels along Westgate Street and out at the Bay, the Millennium Centre, and the business parks at Cardiff Gate and Cardiff Edge that sit awkwardly off the A48 and nowhere near a useful bus.

The Brecon Beacons begin under an hour north and are the reason to keep the car for a second day. The Gower peninsula and Swansea lie west, the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey east towards the border, and Penarth and Barry sit on the coast within twenty minutes. Bristol and Bath are both a straightforward run back over the Severn crossing.

Cardiff Airport is around twenty-five to thirty-five minutes west at Rhoose. Bristol Airport is often the better connected option at roughly fifty to seventy minutes over the bridge. From London the M4 covers the entire journey, typically three to four hours depending on Newport and the Severn approach, and trains from Paddington run in around two hours. A good number of guests take the train and keep a car waiting at Central instead.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs

Why Clients Choose Us for Cardiff

  • 01

    Closures mapped early

On a stadium day the road plan changes across the whole centre. Collection points are chosen from the closures rather than the address, and confirmed the night before.

  • 02

    Bay and centre linked

Ten to fifteen minutes separates the two halves of the city, and doing that run repeatedly by taxi on a busy evening is nobody's idea of a night out.

  • 03

    Two airports weighed

Rhoose is nearer and Bristol is better connected. We will say which suits your flight and your timing rather than which happens to suit us.

  • 04

    Valleys within reach

The mountains begin close enough that a spare morning becomes a genuine drive, and the roads north are far better enjoyed from the back seat.

At a Glance

Cardiff

  • International weekends

Stadium closures reshape the centre for the whole day, so collection points are agreed well in advance.

  • Beacons in an hour

The mountains start close enough that a spare day genuinely becomes a proper day out.

  • Two airports considered

Cardiff is nearer, Bristol is better connected, and we will tell you honestly which suits your flight.

Local Knowledge

Cardiff by road

The M4 delivers almost everyone. Junction 32 and the A470 come down into the north of the city, Junction 29 and the A48(M) serve the eastern side and the business parks, and Junction 33 links to the A4232 for the Bay and the airport road. Three to four hours from London is honest, with the stretch around Newport deciding most of the variation. The Severn crossings no longer carry a toll.

In the centre, the streets nearest the stadium are the first to close and the last to reopen, which affects far more than match traffic. St Mary Street and Westgate Street run alongside it, and the area outside Central station is heavy with people at the best of times. We set collection points a street or two clear of the cordon and tell you exactly where, because on those days a description is not enough.

The Bay has its own geometry. Lloyd George Avenue and Bute Street connect it to the centre in ten to fifteen minutes, the Millennium Centre and Mermaid Quay have limited stopping and a great deal of foot traffic, and Penarth sits just around the water. Out east, Cardiff Gate and the parks off the A48 are gated sites with visitor barriers, and the airport at Rhoose is twenty-five to thirty-five minutes down the Vale road.

Four Steps

How Booking Works

Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.

  2. 02

    We quote in writing

You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.

  3. 03

    The car is held

On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.

  4. 04

    Your chauffeur arrives

Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.

Corporate & Business

Capital city business

Cardiff's working life is concentrated: government, media, financial services and the universities all sit within a small area, with the business parks strung along the eastern approaches. A visiting team can cover the centre, the Bay and Cardiff Gate in a day, but only if the movements between them are planned, because the roads that connect them are the same ones that close for events.

Production and broadcast work has its own demands, with early calls, long days and locations that change at short notice. We keep a car and a chauffeur assigned for the duration rather than rebooking each morning. For inbound colleagues, arrivals at Bristol or Rhoose are monitored and the run in is timed against the bridge and the M4 rather than optimistically.

Who We Drive

Who Travels with Us for Cardiff

  • International supporters

Parties in from England, Ireland and considerably further, staying in the centre and needing to move through a city where half the streets are shut.

  • Conference and government visitors

Delegates attending events in the Bay or the centre, where the walk between the two is longer and rather wetter than it looks.

  • Media and production teams

Crews working between the Bay studios, location days out in the valleys and a late return that no published timetable covers.

  • Touring visitors

Guests using the capital as a base for the Beacons, the Wye Valley and the coast, with a different destination on each day.

Events & Occasions

Internationals, concerts and festivals

A Six Nations Saturday is the loudest day in the Welsh calendar and the most rewarding one to have a car for. The stadium sits in the middle of the city, so the walk out afterwards is long and crowded and the ranks are hopeless. We meet clear of the cordon, wait as long as it takes, and take you back out towards the hotel or the motorway.

Stadium concerts follow the same pattern on summer evenings. Beyond them, the Hay festival is a picturesque hour and a half north east, the Royal Welsh Show fills a week in July, and cricket at Sophia Gardens brings its own quieter crowd. Weddings tend to head for the Vale of Glamorgan and the coast, where guests need collecting from a lane after dark.

Timing & Availability

Weekends that book out

Autumn internationals and the Six Nations weekends are the hardest dates in the Cardiff year, and hotels and cars both go early. Concert nights at the stadium have the same effect at shorter notice. If your visit falls on one of them, the sensible course is to fix the arrangement as soon as the fixture itself is announced.

The rest of the year is comfortable and short notice is often fine, particularly midweek. Summer brings the festival season and the shows, and August fills the roads west towards the Gower. On a fixture weekend the honest answer may be that the day needs an extra half hour built into it, and we would far rather say that early.

Professional Chauffeur Standards

The Standard We Hold

What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.

  • Vetted professional chauffeurs

Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.

  • Discretion by default

Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.

  • Immaculate vehicles

Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.

  • One point of contact

The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.
