Almost to the terminal door runs the M8, and out of the city centre the drive is short enough that people habitually underestimate it. At the wrong hour the motorway through Glasgow crawls, and the airport spur narrows when it fills. Collection times therefore follow the day and the hour rather than the mileage, and your chauffeur is outside your door with time in hand.
With only one terminal, meeting is a simple business. A name board goes up inside the arrivals hall, and from there your chauffeur carries the cases out to the car. Give us the flight number and the pickup follows the published schedule and the clearance times we would normally expect. Transatlantic flights come in during the early afternoon and the hall fills fast, so those bookings get a wider allowance.

With one terminal and one arrivals hall, the meeting is simple: your chauffeur stands in front of you rather than somewhere out in a car park. Off a European flight, twenty-five to forty minutes from landing is a fair expectation; North American arrivals, which reach Glasgow as a group during the afternoon, take longer, since immigration is handling several aircraft at once. Collection is built around the published arrival time with that difference already allowed for.
Leaving the M8 at junction 28, the airport spur puts the terminal only a few minutes from Paisley and a short run from the city centre. Distance is not the complication here; the motorway is. Through Glasgow itself and across the Kingston Bridge it crawls at peak times, and once you are committed to it no useful parallel route exists. Going north and west, the Erskine Bridge is usually a better line than doubling back through the city.
Pulling up a few steps from the entrance attracts a fee at set-down, while a less expensive drop area sits further out and charges you the walk instead. Worth remembering: Prestwick is a separate airport some distance down the coast, and mixing the two up is an expensive error, so the airport as well as the terminal gets confirmed. First departures leave before the motorway wakes, which makes an early collection the least eventful of the lot.
